At the dawning of each new year, I like to remind myself that the past was never as good as we pretend it was and that the future is always better.
That is a hard message to sell right now, when both prez candidates are selling doom: Trump because he can’t win without it and Biden because he can’t let Trump spew his nonsense without reply.
So I revive an old drill from my days as a Scripps national columnist and share ten things I’d like to see happen or further unfold this year — plausibility be damned.
