Great NYT piece summing up latest analysis by a company (Henley & Partners) that is “the global leader in residence and citizenship by investment.”

There’s a coded phrase alright.

This means they help rich people balance their citizenship portfolios by purchasing additional citizenships by — in effect — bribing local governments with investment pledges. The company’s site brags that: “Each year, hundreds of wealthy individuals and their advisors rely on our expertise and experience in this area.” So, obviously, they work only with very high net-worth individuals who want to live above the legal restrictions and limitations that the rest of us must endure.
