My appearance yesterday on BBC's The Context with Christian Fraser

Politico story leads to invite from host

Did it live from my home office in Yellow Springs OH (and you will note their identification of my location as such).

I was told 5 mins but it went more like 10-11, so I was fine with the pace.

I was told beforehand: basic interview with me first, and then some chiming in by two panelists.

The guy (former Department of State official) went after me a bit in that sanctimonious STATE way, but I was fine with my comeback.

Not happy with sound on my end. If I do this in future more, then I should get a clip-on mike (note to self).

Also felt they didn’t need to blow me face up so much in isolated shots and then cut off my chin with an overly large chyron band below.

Still, think it’s probably a first for Throughline to be on the BBC, but maybe I am wrong.

Anyway, the producer of the show said the segment was “great.” The segment was set up by him because Fraser really loved the Politico piece.

I loved his bit at the end about, if you’re a Brit and you read this article, better to be sitting down while you do so!

My Irish-Catholic mom would have loved that.
