for different reasons I think that is the most compelling thought
a shooting war seems basically impossible in my mind but the federal entity just disintegrating under the weight of its poor stewardship and other root causes feels so plausible
one wonders if such a thing is almost by design... some days it feels almost impossible to salvage, maybe easier to just reformat and try again

Yikes. Like others I don't know if a shooting war is the outcome. I know Illinois where I live has no outside source of income and would be hard pressed to fight a war with the federal govt. I do think massive election disruption is possible not to just keep newly elected representative and senators out of office but to keep Trump in office past his 8th year. I hope that SCOTUS ultimately can look past their luxury vacations and country club memberships to see the Constitution mandated a 3 prong govt.
