Real Clear Politics's talking heads podcast discusses my January Politico piece
"An Expert in Grand Strategy Thinks Trump Is on to Something"
What I found interesting about the conversation: First, they seemed to ridicule the idea, then you got this whiff of hostility as one complains that he’s stuck with two “Teddy Roosevelts” here, and finally the same complainer comes out with a full-throated defense of US interventionism.
It’s almost like watching Schopenhauer’s truth go through the three stages of ridicule, opposition, and acceptance as conventional wisdom.
That’s me bitching a bit: in truth, it is very gratifying to have three senior journalism figures take an article you wrote and discuss it seriously.
I’m just sorry they didn’t have me on!
