The crystalizing climate-change event (imagined over a decade ago)
What will it take for this world re-mapping dynamic to top the list?
Great Substack post by Amee Vanderpool that surveys the rising costs of climate-induced disaster and calculates that climate change is presently costing the planet about $16M/hour (and rising rapidly) — per a report out of New Zealand.
I wanted to restock her post and note her Substack service/ambition that she ends the post with:

So, another Substack worth tracking and now one I recommend.
From the post I just want to highlight one graphic similarity to America’s New Map.
Above you see the book illustration that projects a sort of scary Mad Max-landscape across what I dub Middle Earth (30 degrees north and south of the equator).
